Surah Ghafir Ayat 8 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi
  • Shaheen International

23. This tells us that the inmates of Paradise will live with their believing wives and children in Paradise.

24. A few points emerge from this:

1 When Allah Almighty decides to bestow a gift on any person. He gives an order to His beloved servants to pray for him. He tells them And pray for them" (159 V 103)

2 The bounties of Allah Almighty are obtained through His beloved servants. If wanted to give without the mediation of pious servants. He would not have instructed angels to pray for them Says, “Allah Almigthy "

And when they do injustice to their bonds, “O Beloved they should come to you and beg forgiveness of Allah” (S4 V64). The Holy Prophet is the is the highest medium for the entire world.

The servants are shown favours to please their masters. The angels are praying for the believers only so that the Great Master of the green Dome and the inmate of the Golden chamber would be pleased with them.

We ould also make it our duty to offer prayers for the Companions, the noble progeny and the residents of Madina, in order to gain the pleasure of the Holy Prophet ?. We should have public discussions about them in the best possible way. This is the very purpose of holding Urs of the pious.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Muminun verse 8 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Muminun ayat 7 which provides the complete commentary from verse 7 through 9.

(40:8) Our Lord, admit them to the everlasting Gardens You have promised them[10] and those of their fathers and spouses and progeny that were righteous.[11] Surely You alone are Most Mighty, Most Wise;

Ala-Maududi

(40:8) Our Lord, admit them to the everlasting Gardens You have promised them[10] and those of their fathers and spouses and progeny that were righteous.[11] Surely You alone are Most Mighty, Most Wise;

10. Here again there is the same state of solicitude as referred to in E.Ns above. Obviously, forgiving and saving from Hell by itself amounts to admitting to Paradise. And then soliciting Allah for granting the believers the same Paradise which He Himself has promised them, seems to be unnecessary, but the angels are so earnest in their desire of well-being for the believers that they go on repeating their good wishes for them although they know that Allah will certainly bless them with these favors in the Hereafter.

11. That is. join with them their parents and their wives and children for the comfort of their eyes. This same thing Allah Himself has stated as among the blessings which the believers will be granted in Paradise. For this see (Surah Ar-Raad, Ayat 23) and (Surah At-Toor, Ayat 21). In the verse of Surah At-Toor, there is also the explanation that if a person will deserve a higher rank in Paradise, which his parents will not deserve, he will not be lowered in rank to be joined with them but Allah will raise them to join him in the higher station.

(8) Our Lord, and admit them to gardens of perpetual residence which You have promised them and whoever was righteous among their forefathers, their spouses and their offspring. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
