Transliteration:( Wa lakum feehaa manaafi'u wa litablughoo 'alaihaa haajatan fee sudoorikum wa 'alaihaa wa 'alal fulki tuhmaloon )
"And you have other advantages [201] in them, that you may attain the desires [202] of your hearts. On their backs and on ships [203] you are carried."
Beyond riding and consuming their meat, animals provide many other benefits, such as:
Milk, which nourishes;
Wool and hides, which are used for clothing, tents, and bedding;
Eggs (from birds), which are also consumed and traded.
These utilities show the multifaceted blessings Allah has placed in these creatures.
You also fulfill your personal and commercial desires through them — such as by transporting goods and merchandise.
Through trade and business, you earn profits, meet needs, and satisfy your livelihood goals.
This reminds us that animals have been made means of economic ease and worldly benefit.
The verse combines land and sea transport:
On their backs refers to riding animals on land.
On ships refers to sailing on seas and oceans.
Despite their massive size, ships do not sink, which is a manifest sign of Allah’s power and mercy.
This shows that both natural resources and technology are under divine control and subject to human use by Allah’s will.
