📖 Commentary of Surah Saad – Verse 73

"Therefore, the angels fell down in prostration, all of them together [127]."

✅ [127] Nature of the Prostration and Who Performed It

  1. This prostration was specifically for Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) as a gesture of respect, not worship. Had it been solely for Allah with Adam merely as a direction (qiblah), the wording “for him” would not be used, and Iblis would not have objected.

  2. The entire assembly of angels—including those close to Allah and those assigned duties across the heavens and earth—all prostrated together, showing universal obedience to Allah’s command and honour for Adam.
