Transliteration:( 'A-unzila 'alaihiz zikru min baininaa; bal hum fee shakkin min Zikree bal lammaa yazooqoo 'azaab )
13. This is the envy of the infidels of Makkah on the Holy Prophet. We are so wealthy and firmly established, then why did Prophethood not come to us? It should be remembered that receiving Prophethood by the Holy Prophet ? propagated a single God. If Prophethood was given to some wealthy person, then a person could have said that the success and splendor of Islam were achieved through monetary strength. Hence, this spread of Islam was due to its truth and not through any material power.Â
14 That Sometimes they are calling the Holy Quraan to be poetry, sometimes as magic. Sometimes false.Â
15. If they could have seen the punishment, envy or doubt would have not remained. They would have been forced, like the Pharaoh, to accept Islam. This tells us that excessive wealth and comfort makes a person rebellious,

(38:8) Has this Exhortation been sent down among us only to him, to the exclusion of all others?” Nay, they are in doubt regarding My Exhortation,[10] and are saying all this because they have not yet had any taste of My chastisement.
10. In other words Allah says: Muhammad, these people are not belying you but Me. As for your truthfulness, they had never doubted it before. Now that they are doubting it, it is because of My Admonition. Now that I have entrusted to you the mission of admonishing them, they have started doubting the truthfulness of the very person whose righteousness and piety they used to swear by.
