📖 Commentary of Surah Saba – Verse 53

"That they had disbelieved in it before and they utter conjecture with regard to the unseen from a distant [150] place."

✅ [150] Baseless Conjecture of the Disbelievers

This verse refers to those who had previously rejected the truth and now speak foolishly about matters of the unseen from a place far removed from knowledge and reality. Their claims against the dignity and truth of the Holy Prophet ﷺ are unfounded and far from the truth, reflecting ignorance and arrogance.

75. That is, they used to charge the Messenger (peace be upon him) and the believers with false accusations and used to taunt and mock his message. Sometimes they said he was a sorcerer or a madman; sometimes they ridiculed Tauhid and the concept of the Hereafter; sometimes they invented the story that someone has taught him everything; and sometimes they said that the believers had started following him only on account of folly and ignorance.

(53) And they had already disbelieved in it before and would assault[1241] the unseen from a place far away.[1242]

[1241]- Verbally, by conjecture and denial. [1242]- i.e., a position far from truth.
