Transliteration:( Qaaloo jazaaa'uhoo manw wujida fee rahlihee fahuwa jazaaa'uh; kazaalika najziz zaalimeen )
159. This means the punish for stealing in the religion of Hazrat Yaqoob (on whom be peace) was that the owner could keep the thief as a slave for as long as he liked, but he had no right to sell him. He could only obtain service from him

(12:75) They replied: “He in whose saddlebag the cup is found, he himself shall be its recompense.” Thus do we punish the wrong-doers.[58]
58. It should be kept in mind that these people were the descendants of Prophet Abraham. Therefore they put forward his law regarding a thief, that is, the thief should be made the bondsman of the one whose goods he had stolen.
[608]- According to their law, a convicted thief was made a slave of the one from whom he had stolen.
