Quran-20:132 Surah Ta-ha English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Wa'mur ahlaka bis Salaati wastabir 'alaihaa laa nas'aluka rizqaa; nahnu narzuquk; wal 'aaqibatu littaqwaa )

132. And bid your family for prayer, and be steadfast [190] over it. We ask not of you any sustenance. We shall provide [191] to you. And the good end is for those guarding evil (192). (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(132) And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness. (Saheen International Translation)

190. From this, emerge three issues:

1. All these inmates of the house are included in the family: wives, children, brothers, etc.

2. A true worshipper is not he who only offers his Salaah, but he who offers his salaah as well as involves the entire household in it.

3. The nature of the command of Salaah is of a varying type: small children and wives should be forcefully made to perform their Salaah, brothers, cousins, etc. should be verbally instructed to perform their Salaah.

191. This means you have not been made responsible for the sustenance of yourself and your children; We are the true supporters and surety of it. This verse does not mean that man should stop earning his living. Numerous commands to do this are found in the Holy QUR'AAN and Hadith. But its true purpose is to show that one should not be neglectful of the Hereafter by just engaging in earning one's living.

192. In it, there is a hint that through good deeds, sustenance is granted through unknown sources. Says Allah Almighty: "And we will make a way for his deliverance. And will provide for him when he expects not" (S65: Vs 2-3).

Please refer to Surah Taha ayat 131 which provides the complete commentary from verse 131 through 135.

(20:132) Enjoin Prayer on your household,[114] and do keep observing it. We do not ask you for any worldly provision; rather, it is We Who provide you, and ultimately the pious will end up the best.[115]

Ala-Maududi

(20:132) Enjoin Prayer on your household,[114] and do keep observing it. We do not ask you for any worldly provision; rather, it is We Who provide you, and ultimately the pious will end up the best.[115]

114. That is, also teach your children that lawful provision is much better than the unlawful riches of the wicked people. For this purpose, enjoin them to say their prescribed Prayers, for this will change their attitude, their standard of values, and make them contented with pure provisions and virtuous life in preference to the life of sin and luxury.

115. It implies this: We do not ask you to offer your Prayers for any benefit of Our own. We ask you to do that for your own good, because this will create piety in you which will bring about true success for you in this world and in the Hereafter.

(132) And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness.
