Transliteration:( Wa law annaaa ahlaknaahum bi 'azaabin min qablihee laqaaloo Rabbanaa law laaa arsalta ilainaa Rasoolan fanattabi'a Aayaatika min qabli an nazilla wa nakhzaa )

134. And had we destroyed them before the coming of the Messenger, then they would have necessarily said, 'O my Lord, why you sent not a Messenger [195] that we might have followed your signs before we were disgraced and humiliated' [196]. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(134) And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him,[869] they would have said, "Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses [i.e., teachings] before we were humiliated and disgraced?" (Saheen International Translation)

📖 Commentary of Surah Taha – Verse 134

And had We destroyed them before the coming of the Messenger, then they would have necessarily said, 'O my Lord, why did You not send a Messenger [195] so that we might have followed Your signs before we were disgraced and humiliated?' [196]

✅ 195. The Excuse Preemptively Removed

This means, O My Beloved, if We had punished the infidels before sending Our Prophet, they could have objected: "O our Lord! If only You had sent a messenger, and we had still disobeyed, then we would deserve the punishment."
Now that a messenger has come, this excuse is no longer valid.

✅ 196. Punishment Only After Clear Warning

The punishments that befell the polytheists—such as in the Battle of Badr and the Battle of the Trenchcame only after the Prophet ﷺ was sent to them.
Thus, this verse stands valid and free from any objection.
