Transliteration:( Hum wa azwaajuhum fee zilaalin 'alal araaa'iki muttaki'oon )
"They and their wives [87] will be in pleasant shades reclining on raised couches."
This verse refers to both the lawfully wedded wives from the world and the hoors (heavenly maidens) of Paradise.
From this, it is understood that the hoorain will not be mere maidservants, but will enjoy the honourable status of wives.
Allah Almighty affirms this in another verse:
"And We got them married to black-and-bright large-eyed maidens" (Surah Ad-Dukhan: Verse 54).
Thus, blessed companionship, serene shade, and reclining on raised couches reflect both the comfort and nobility of the dwellers of Paradise.
