📖 Commentary of Surah Ya-Sin – Verse 66

"If We had so willed, We could have mutilated their eyes. Then they would have rushed towards the path. But how would they be able to see [98]?"

✅ [98] The Mercy Behind Withheld Punishment

This verse conveys that if Allah willed, He could have blinded the eyes of the disbelievers, just as their hearts are blinded.

Yet, despite their infidelity and hostility, Allah did not inflict such punishment in this world. Instead, He continued to grant them blessings, such as sight and guidance, giving them the opportunity to reflect and be grateful.

The verse shows that even if they had tried to follow the path, their physical blindness would have made it impossible—just as spiritual blindness prevents them from seeing the truth.
