    وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ

    69. Recite to them the news of Ibrahim [77]

    إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ

    70. When he said to his father and his people, 'What do you worship?' [78]

    قَالُواْ نَعۡبُدُ أَصۡنَامٗا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ

    71.They said, we worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.

    قَالَ هَلۡ يَسۡمَعُونَكُمۡ إِذۡ تَدۡعُونَ

    72. He said, do they hear you when you call?

    أَوۡ يَنفَعُونَكُمۡ أَوۡ يَضُرُّونَ

    73. Or do they do you any good or harm you? [79]

    قَالُواْ بَلۡ وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفۡعَلُونَ

    74. They said, "Nay, we found our fathers doing so" [80].

    قَالَ أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ

    75. He said, "Do you then see what you worship?"

    أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلۡأَقۡدَمُونَ

    76. You and your forefathers [81].

    فَإِنَّهُمۡ عَدُوّٞ لِّيٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

    77. Indeed, they are all enemies [82] to me, except the Lord of the worlds [83].

    ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهۡدِينِ

    78. He who created me; therefore, He will guide me [84].

    وَٱلَّذِي هُوَ يُطۡعِمُنِي وَيَسۡقِينِ

    79. and He who feeds me and gives me to drink [85

    وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ

    80.And when I am ill, it is He who heals me [86].

    وَٱلَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحۡيِينِ

    81. And He who will cause me to die, then will give me life [87].

    وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لِي خَطِيٓـَٔتِي يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ

    82. And He in whom I hope will forgive my sins on the Day of Requital [87].

    رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي حُكۡمٗا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

    وَٱجۡعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدۡقٖ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

    وَٱجۡعَلۡنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

    وَٱغۡفِرۡ لِأَبِيٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

    وَلَا تُخۡزِنِي يَوۡمَ يُبۡعَثُونَ

    87. And do not disgrace me on the Day when all will be resurrected [93].

    يَوۡمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٞ وَلَا بَنُونَ

    88. The Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit [94].
