    كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٌ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

    123. Aad denied the Messengers [124].

    إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

    124. When their brother Hud said to them, "Do you not fear?" [125]

    إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ

    125. Indeed, I am a trustworthy Messenger for you. [126]

    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    126. Therefore, fear Allah and obey me. [127]

    وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

    127. And I ask you no wage for it [128]. My wage is only upon Him who is the Lord of the worlds [129].

    أَتَبۡنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةٗ تَعۡبَثُونَ

    128. Do you build a sign on every height to mock at the wayfarers? [130]

    وَإِذَا بَطَشۡتُم بَطَشۡتُمۡ جَبَّارِينَ

    130. And when you seize, you seize tyrannically. [132]

    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    131. Therefore fear Allah and obey me. [133]

    وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

    132. And fear Him who has provided you with what you know.

    أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنۡعَٰمٖ وَبَنِينَ

    133. Who provided you with livestock and sons.

    134. And gardens and springs [134].

    إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ

    135. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a Great Day [135].

    قَالُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡنَآ أَوَعَظۡتَ أَمۡ لَمۡ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡوَٰعِظِينَ

    136. They said, "It is the same to us whether you admonish us or do not admonish us" [136].

    إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

    137. "This is nothing but the habits of the ancients" [137].

    وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

    138. "And we will not be tormented" [138].

    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ

    139. So they belied him, and We destroyed them. [139] Indeed, in that is a sign, but most of them were not believers. [140]

    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

    140. And indeed, your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. [141]
