بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
تِلۡكَ أُمَّةٞ قَدۡ خَلَتۡۖ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتۡ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبۡتُمۡۖ وَلَا تُسۡـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
Transliteration:( Tilka ummatun qad khalat lahaa maa kasabat wa lakum maa kasabtum wa laa tus'aloona 'ammaa kaano ya'maloon (section 16, End Juz 1) )
141. That was a nation that has passed on; they will have what they have earned [284], and you will have what you have earned, and you will not be questioned about their deeds.
۞سَيَقُولُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَا وَلَّىٰهُمۡ عَن قِبۡلَتِهِمُ ٱلَّتِي كَانُواْ عَلَيۡهَاۚ قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقُ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبُۚ يَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Transliteration:( Sayaqoolus sufahaaa'u minan naasi maa wallaahum 'an Qiblatihimul latee kaanoo 'alaihaa; qul lillaahil mashriqu walmaghrib; yahdee mai yashaaa'u ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem )
142. The foolish [285] among the people will say [286]: "What has turned them (Muslims) away from their Qibla [287] which they used to face?" Please declare (O Muhammad): "To Allah belongs [288] the east and the west; He guides whom He wills to the Straight Path."
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَسَطٗا لِّتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ شَهِيدٗاۗ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا ٱلۡقِبۡلَةَ ٱلَّتِي كُنتَ عَلَيۡهَآ إِلَّا لِنَعۡلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيۡهِۚ وَإِن كَانَتۡ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّهُۗ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَٰنَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌۭ
Transliteration:( Wa kazaalika ja'alnaakum ummatanw wasatal litakoonoo shuhadaaa'a 'alan naasi wa yakoonar Rasoolu 'alaikum shaheedaa; wa maa ja'alnal qiblatal latee kunta 'alaihaaa illaa lina'lama mai yattabi'ur Rasoola mimmai yanqalibu 'alaa 'aqibayh; wa in kaanat lakabeeratan illaa 'alal lazeena hadal laah; wa maa kaanal laahu liyudee'a eemaanakum; innal laaha binnaasi la Ra'oofur Raheem )
143. And thus We made you an exalted [289] community among all the nations that you may be a witness [290] over the people and the Rasool (Messenger) will be a witness over you [291]. And (O Beloved) We did not make the Qibla, which you used to face (Baitul Muqaddas) but that We might make evident who would follow the Rasool from who would turn back on his heels. And, surely, it is difficult, except for those whom Allah has guided [292], and never would Allah cause you to lose your faith [293]. Surely, Allah is to the people, Most Kind and Merciful [294].
قَدۡ نَرَىٰ تَقَلُّبَ وَجۡهِكَ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِۖ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبۡلَةٗ تَرۡضَىٰهَاۚ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَحَيۡثُ مَا كُنتُمۡ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ شَطۡرَهُۥۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ لَيَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ
Transliteration:( Qad naraa taqalluba wajhika fis samaaa'i fala nuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaahaa; fawalli wajhaka shatral Masjidil haaraam; wa haisu maa kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrah; wa innal lazeena ootul Kitaaba laya'lamoona annahul haqqu mir Rabbihim; wa mal laahu bighaafilin 'ammaa ya'maloon )
144.Surely, We have observed you turning [295] your face (O Muhammad) towards heaven repeatedly [296], and We will surely turn you to a Qibla with which you will be pleased [297]. So, turn [298] your face towards the Sacred Mosque (Ka'bah) at once, and wherever you (believers) are, turn [299] your face towards it. Those who were given the Scripture, surely, know that it is the truth [300] from their Lord and Allah is not unmindful of their deeds.
وَلَئِنۡ أَتَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِكُلِّ ءَايَةٖ مَّا تَبِعُواْ قِبۡلَتَكَۚ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِتَابِعٖ قِبۡلَتَهُمۡۚ وَمَا بَعۡضُهُم بِتَابِعٖ قِبۡلَةَ بَعۡضٖۚ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعۡتَ أَهۡوَآءَهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ إِنَّكَ إِذٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Transliteration:( Wa la'in ataital lazeena ootul kitaaba bikulli aayatim maa tabi'oo Qiblatak; wa maaa anta bitaabi'in Qiblatahum; wa maa ba'duhum bitaabi''in Qiblata ba'd; wa la'init taba'ta ahwaaa'ahum mim ba'di maa jaaa'aka minal 'ilmi innaka izal laminaz zaalimeen )
145. And if you were to bring to the people of the Scripture [301] every sign, they would not follow [302] your Qibla, nor should you follow their Qibla [303], nor would they be followers of each other's Qibla [304]. (O listeners) If you were to follow their desires, after the knowledge of the truth has come to you, then indeed you would be among the transgressors [305].
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ يَعۡرِفُونَهُۥ كَمَا يَعۡرِفُونَ أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡۖ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ لَيَكۡتُمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُونَ
Transliteration:( Allazeena aatainaahumul kitaaba ya'rifoonahoo kamaa ya'rifoona abnaaa'ahum wa inna fareeqam minhum layaktumoonal haqqa wa hum ya'lamoon )
146.Those to whom We gave the Scripture recognize him (Nabi Muhammad) as they recognize their own sons [306]. And, certainly, a group of them knowingly concealed [307] the truth.
ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمُمۡتَرِينَ
Transliteration:( Alhaqqu mir Rabbika falaa takoonana minal mumtareen )
147.(O listener) This is the truth [308] from your Lord. So beware! Never be among those who are doubtful.
وَلِكُلّٖ وِجۡهَةٌ هُوَ مُوَلِّيهَاۖ فَٱسۡتَبِقُواْ ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِۚ أَيۡنَ مَا تَكُونُواْ يَأۡتِ بِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
Transliteration:( Wa likullinw wijhatun huwa muwalleehaa fastabiqul khairaat; ayna maa takoonoo yaati bikumullaahu jamee'aa; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in qadeer )
148. For every person there is a direction [309] to which he faces, so strive to surpass [310] others in doing good deeds. Wherever you may be—Allah will bring you forth altogether [311]. Verily, Allah has power over everything.
وَمِنۡ حَيۡثُ خَرَجۡتَ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
Transliteration:( Wa min haisu kharajta fawalli wajhaka shatral Masjidil Haraam; wa innahoo lalhaqqu mir Rabbik; wa mallaahu bighaafilin 'ammaa ta'maloon )
149. So from whichever direction you come forth [312], turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque, and surely, it is the truth from your Lord, and Allah is not unmindful of what you do [313].
وَمِنۡ حَيۡثُ خَرَجۡتَ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَحَيۡثُ مَا كُنتُمۡ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ شَطۡرَهُۥ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ فَلَا تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ وَٱخۡشَوۡنِي وَلِأُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتِي عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ
Transliteration:( Wa min haisu kharajta fawalli wajhaka shatral Masjidil Haraam; wa haisu maa kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahoo li'allaa yakoona linnaasi 'alaikum hujjatun illal lazeena zalamoo minhum falaa takhshawhum wakhshawnee wa liutimma ni'matee 'alaikum wa la'allakum tahtadoon )
150. And from wherever you (O Muhammad) come forth, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque [314]. And wherever you [believers] may be, turn your face towards it so that people will not have any argument [315] against you, except for those who are unjust [316]. So fear them not but fear Me alone. And it is so that I may complete My favor upon you and that you may be guided [317].
