The summary/theme of the surah Al-Mulk:

In this surah, Allah's many attributes are emphasized, along with the punishments awaiting those who reject Islam.

Lesson learned from surah Al-Mulk:

  1. Allah's created life and death to test us how we fare in terms of our actions.  
  2. You will never be able to find a crack in the sky.  
  3. Each time a group will be thrown into the Fire of Jahannam, the angels will ask them whether or not they were warned of this punishment. They will admit that they were warned, but they belied the Messengers.  
  4. Whether you whisper or talk loudly, Allah's knows what your hearts conceal.  
  5. How can we be assured to be safe of the earth swallowing us up as punishment from Allah's?  
  6. How can we be assured of safety from stones raining upon us as punishment from Allah's?  
  7. What if the being who gives us sustenance decides to withdraw from granting it to us?  
  8. The knowledge of the Hour is exclusively with Allah's.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

أَمَّنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي يَرۡزُقُكُمۡ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَ رِزۡقَهُۥۚ بَل لَّجُّواْ فِي عُتُوّٖ وَنُفُورٍ

Transliteration:( Amman haazal lazee yarzuqukum in amsaka rizqah; bal lajjoo fee 'utuwwinw wa nufoor )
21. Or, who is it that will provide for you if He withholds His provision [43]? Nay, they have persisted in arrogance and aversion.

أَفَمَن يَمۡشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِهِۦٓ أَهۡدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمۡشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ

Transliteration:( Afamai yamshee mukibban 'alaa wajhihee ahdaaa ammany yamshee sawiyyan 'alaa siratim mustaqeem )
22. What! Is he who walks [44] on his face better guided than he who walks upright [45] on a straight path [46]?

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنشَأَكُمۡ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ

Transliteration:( Qul huwal lazee ansha akum wa ja'ala lakumus sam'a wal absaara wal af'idata qaleelam maa tashkuroon )
23. Say, "It is He Who created you and made for you the ears, the eyes, and the hearts [47]. Little is it that you give thanks [48]."

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ

Transliteration:( Qul huwal lazee zara akum fil ardi wa ilaihi tuhsharoon )
24.Please declare: "It is He Who multiplies you in the earth and to Him you shall be gathered [49]."

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa'du in kuntum saadiqeen )
25. And they say, "When will this promise be, if you are truthful [50]?"

قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ

Transliteration:( Qul innamal 'ilmu 'indallaahi wa innamaaa ana nazeerum mubeen )
26. Say, "The knowledge [51] of it is with Allah alone, and I am only a clear warner [52]."

فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ زُلۡفَةٗ سِيٓـَٔتۡ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ

Transliteration:( Falammaa ra-awhu zulfatan seee'at wujoohul lazeena kafaroo wa qeela haazal lazee kuntum bihee tadda'oon )
27. But when they will see it close, the faces [53] of those who disbelieve will be darkened, and it will be said to them, "This is what you used to call for [54]."

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَهۡلَكَنِيَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِيَ أَوۡ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ

Transliteration:( Qul ara'aytum in ahlaka niyal laahu wa mam ma'iya aw rahimanaa famai-yujeerul kaafireena min 'azaabin aleem )
28. Say, "Have you considered: if Allah destroys [55] me and those with me, or if He has mercy [56] on us, who will protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ هُوَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ

Transliteration:( Qul huwar rahmaanu aamannaa bihee wa 'alaihi tawakkalnaa fasata'lamoona man huwa fee dalaalim mubeen )
29. Say, "He is the Most Merciful. We have believed in Him, and upon Him we have put our trust [57]. So, you will soon know [58] who is in clear misguidance."

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَصۡبَحَ مَآؤُكُمۡ غَوۡرٗا فَمَن يَأۡتِيكُم بِمَآءٖ مَّعِينِۭ

Transliteration:( Qul ara'aytum in asbaha maaa'ukum ghawran famai ya'teekum bimaaa'im ma'een )
30.Say, "Have you considered: if your water becomes sunken [59], who will bring you flowing water?"
