The summary/theme of the surah Al-Qasas:

 The revelation of surah Qasas was intended to give the promise of victory to those believers who were a minority before migrating from Mecca to Medina and endured the most difficult conditions at the time of the Prophet.

Lesson learned from surah Al-Qasas:

  1. If Allah's wants something doing, His plans for it are meticulous.  
  2. You cannot give hid'yah (guidance) to whomsoever you love and wish to; it is only Allah's that gives hid'yah.  
  3. Allah's knows what the chests conceal and what they expose.  
  4. If Allah's was to cause persistent daylight, there is no power that can cause nightfall.  
  5. If Allah's was to cause persistent nightfall, there is no power besides Him that can bring daylight.  
  6. Do not become exceedingly happy; Allah's doesn’t like such people.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

وَقَالَتۡ لِأُخۡتِهِۦ قُصِّيهِۖ فَبَصُرَتۡ بِهِۦ عَن جُنُبٖ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa qaalat li ukhtihee qusseehi fabasurat bihee 'an junubinw wahum laa yash'uroon )
11. And his mother said to his sister[27], follow him, then she remained observing from afar, and they were not aware. [28]

۞وَحَرَّمۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَقَالَتۡ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِ بَيۡتٖ يَكۡفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَهُۥ نَٰصِحُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa harramnaa 'alaihil maraadi'a min qablu faqaalat hal adullukum 'alaaa ahli baitiny yakfuloonahoo lakum wa hum lahoo naasihoon )
12. And We had already forbidden all wet nurses [29] to him. Then she said, 'Shall I tell you of a household who can care for this child [30] of yours, and they will be sincere in their duty?'

فَرَدَدۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّهِۦ كَيۡ تَقَرَّ عَيۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَ وَلِتَعۡلَمَ أَنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

Transliteration:( Faradadnaahu ilaa ummihee kai taqarra 'ainuhaa wa laa tahzana wa lita'lama anna wa'dal laahi haqqunw wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon (section 1) )
13. Then We returned him to his mother [31] that she might be comforted and not grieve, and that she might know that the promise of Allah is true [32], but most of people do not know. [33]

وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa lammaa balagha ashuddahoo wastawaaa aatai naahu hukmanw wa 'ilmaa; wa kazaalika najzil muhsineen )
14. And when he reached his mature age and attained full strength, We bestowed upon him wisdom and knowledge [34]. And thus We reward those who do good [35].

وَدَخَلَ ٱلۡمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيۡنِ يَقۡتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَٱسۡتَغَٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِي مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِي مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيۡهِۖ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوّٞ مُّضِلّٞ مُّبِينٞ

Transliteration:( Wa dakhalal madeenata 'alaa heene ghaflatim min ahlihaa fawajada feeha raju laini yaqtatilaani haazaa min shee'atihee wa haaza min 'aduwwihee fastaghaasahul lazee min shee'atihee 'alal lazee min 'aduwwihee fawakazahoo Moosaa faqadaa 'alaihi qaala haaza min 'amalish Shaitaani innahoo 'aduwwum mmudillum mubeen )
15. And he entered the city [36] at a time when the people were unaware, and found there two men fighting [37]; one was from his own people, and the other was from his enemies. The one who was from his own people called for help [38] against the one from his enemies. Then Musa struck him [39] and killed him [40]. He said, 'This is of Satan’s doing [41]; indeed, he is an enemy, a clear misleader [42].'

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِي فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Transliteration:( Qaala Rabbi innee zalamtu nafsee faghfir lee faghafaralah; innahoo Huwal Ghafoorur Raheem )
16. He said, 'O my Lord, I have wronged my soul, [43] so forgive me,' and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. [44]

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنۡ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرٗا لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

Transliteration:( Qaala Rabbi bimaaa an'amta 'alaiya falan akoona zaheeral lilmujrimeen )
17. He said, 'O my Lord, because You have blessed me, I will never be a supporter of the criminals.' [45]

فَأَصۡبَحَ فِي ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ خَآئِفٗا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِي ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ يَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُۥۚ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِيّٞ مُّبِينٞ

Transliteration:( Fa asbaha fil madeenati khaaa'ifany yataraqqabu fa izal lazis tansarahoo bil amsi yastasrikhuh; qaala lahoo moosaaa innaka laghawiyyum mubeen )
18. He was in the city the next morning, fearful and watching anxiously [46]. When he saw that the man who had sought his help the day before was now calling for help [47], Musa said to him, 'Indeed, you are a manifestly misguided man [48].

فَلَمَّآ أَنۡ أَرَادَ أَن يَبۡطِشَ بِٱلَّذِي هُوَ عَدُوّٞ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقۡتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسَۢا بِٱلۡأَمۡسِۖ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِينَ

Transliteration:( Falammaaa an araada ai yabtisha billazee huwa 'aduwwul lahumaa qaala yaa Moosaaa atureedu an taqtulanee kamaa qatalta nafsam bil amsi in tureedu illaaa an takoona jabbaaram fil ardi wa maa tureedu an takoona minal musliheen )
19. Then when Musa intended to seize the one who was an enemy to both [49], the man said, 'O Musa, do you intend to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You only intend to be a tyrant in the land and do not wish to be among those who set things right [50].'

وَجَآءَ رَجُلٞ مِّنۡ أَقۡصَا ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ يَسۡعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱلۡمَلَأَ يَأۡتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِيَقۡتُلُوكَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ إِنِّي لَكَ مِنَ ٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa jaaa'a rajulum min aqsal madeenati yas'aa qaala yaa Moosaaa innal mala a yaa tamiroona bika liyaqtulooka fakhruj innee laka minan naasiheen )
20. And a man came running from the farthest part of the city [51]. He said, 'O Musa, indeed, the leaders are conspiring against you to kill you. So, leave [52]; I am advising you sincerely.'
