The summary/theme of the Surah Ash-Shūr' :

Allah has kept destiny in His own hands. Prophets have come only to awaken the heedless and lead the stray ones to the right path. It is Allah's responsibility to punish those who fail to listen to him, not the Prophet's work, to call to account those who fail to listen to him.

Lesson learned from Surah Ash-Shūr' :

  1. There is nothing like Allah's.
  2. Allah's is kind to His servants; He gives provision to whomsoever He wills.
  3. Whoever wants the fruits of the Hereafter Allah's increases them for him, and whoever strives for the fruits of the world only, he is granted a little thereof, and no share from that of the Hereafter.
  4. Allah's is the only One who accepts repentance from His servants and forgives their sins.
  5. If Allah's was to make provisions plentiful and easily accessible to all His servants, they would rebel on earth.
  6. Whatever calamity befalls you, it is a consequence of your own doing; and Allah's forgives the majority anyway.
  7. To take counsel and consult others is commendable.
  8. The punishment for an act of oppression is revenge of the same, however, the one who overlooks and reconciles will be rewarded handsomely by Allah's.
  9. The one who retaliates after being oppressed is nt to blame. The only blameworthy people are those who wrongfully oppress and rebel on earth. A painful punishment awaits them.
  10. Those who bear patience and forgive are the ones truly commendable and full of resolve.
  11. Allah's grants children to whomsoever He wills. To some He grants only daughters, to some only sons, to some both, and to some nothing.

Transliteration:( Wa maa kaana libasharin any yukallimahul laahu illaa wahyan aw minw waraaa'i hijaabin aw yursila Rasoolan fa yoohiya bi iznihee maa yashaaa'; innahoo 'Aliyyun Hakeem )
51. And it is not fit for a human being [146] that Allah should speak [147] to him, except through revelations (148) or from behind the veil (149). Or, He may send any Messenger that He may reveal (150) what He Wills. Surely. He is High, Wise (151).

Transliteration:( Wa kazaalika awhainaaa ilaika roohan min amrinaa; maa kunta tadree mal Kitaabu wa lal eemaanu wa laakin ja'alnaahu nooran nahdee bihee man nashaaa'u min 'ibaadinaa; wa innaka latahdeee ilaaa Siraatin Mustaqeem )
52.And thus We have revealed [152] to you a spirit [153] by Our Command. You did not know the Book before it, nor the details of the laws (154) of religion. But We made it a light whereby We guide (155) Our devotees whom We Please. And certainly, you (0 Muhammad) guide to the Straight Path (156).

Transliteration:( Siraatil laahil lazee lahoo maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ard; alaaa ilal laahi taseerul umoor (section 5) )
53. The Path of Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Behold! All the affairs return to Allah, only.
