    Surah At-Tawbah, meaning "Repentance," is the 9th chapter of the Quran, comprising 129 verses revealed in Medina. It is also referred to as Bara'at, meaning "Repudiation," as its opening lines announce the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) disavowal of those who reject faith.

    1. Honor your treaties.
    2. Populating mosques is a sign of faith.

    بَرَآءَةٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ

    فَسِيحُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَرۡبَعَةَ أَشۡهُرٖ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّكُمۡ غَيۡرُ مُعۡجِزِي ٱللَّهِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡزِي ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ,

    Transliteration:( Wa azaanum minal laahi wa Rasooliheee ilan naasi yawmal Hajjil Akbari annal laaha bareee'um minal mushrikeena wa Rasooluh; fa-in tubtum fahuwa khairullakum wa in tawallaitum fa'lamooo annakum ghairu mu'jizil laah; wa bashiril lazeena kafaroo biazaabin aleem )
    3. And there is a declaration from Allah and His Messenger to all people on the day of the Great Pilgrimage that Allah is free from the polytheists and so is His Messenger. If you repent, it is better for you; and if you turn away, then know that you cannot weaken Allah. And give glad tidings to the disbelievers of a painful torment [3].

    4. Except for those of the polytheists with whom you had an agreement, and they did not detract from the contract, and did not help [7] anyone against you, then fulfill their pact until its term. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous.

    Transliteration:( Fa izansalakhal Ashhurul Hurumu faqtulul mushrikeena haisu wajattumoohum wa khuzoohum wahsuroohum waq'udoo lahum kulla marsad; fa-in taaboo wa aqaamus Salaata wa aatawuz Zakaata fakhalloo sabeelahum; innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem )
    5. Then when the sacred [8] months have passed, then slay [9] the infidels wherever [10] you find them and seize them and confine them and lie in wait [11] for them at every place. But if they repent and establish prayer and give Zakat, then open the way [12] for them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful [13].

    6. And if any of the polytheists seeks your protection [14], then grant him protection until he hears the word of Allah. Then convey him to his place of safety. This is because they are a people who do not know.

    Transliteration:( Kaifa yakoonu lilmush rikeena 'ahdun 'indallaahi wa 'inda Rasoolihee illal lazeena 'aahattum 'indal Masjidil Haraami famas taqaamoo lakum fastaqeemoo lahum; innallaaha yuhibbul muttaqeen )
    7. How can there be any covenant [15] for the polytheists with Allah and His Messenger, except for those with whom you made a covenant [16] near the Sacred Mosque? Then as long as they remain upright for you, you should also remain upright for them [17]. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [18].

    8. How will it be when they overpower you? They will not regard [19] any relationship or covenant. They please you with their mouths, but their hearts refuse. And most of them are disobedient [20].

    ٱشۡتَرَوۡاْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنٗا قَلِيلٗا فَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّهُمۡ سَآءَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ,

    Transliteration:( Ishtaraw bi Aayaatil laahi samanan qaleelan fasaddoo 'an sabeelih; innahum saaa'a maa kaanoo ya'maloon )
    9. They have purchased the verses of Allah for a meager [21] price and have blocked others from His path. Indeed, they have done very evil deeds.

    Known as "The Immunity," Surah At-Tawbah is the 9th chapter of the Glorious Quran. It contains 129 ayat (verses) and was revealed in Medina after the Prophet (ﷺ) migrated there. This surah consists of two juz (parts). Verses 1 through 92 are in the 10th juz, and verses 93 to 129 are in the 11th juz.

    This surah continues from the previous one, as it begins by calling an end to the numerous peace treaties broken by the pagans. The believers are encouraged to join the Prophet (ﷺ) in marching to Tabuk for battle during the summer of 9 A.H. / 631 C.E., and hypocrites—who make spurious excuses—are uncovered and refuted. Muslims are reminded of Allah's protection at the Battle of Uhud, when their defeat turned into a successful victory, as well as how He shielded His Messenger (ﷺ) during his journey to Medina. Throughout this surah, Allah's tolerance for repentance is continually emphasized, hence its title.
