Transliteration:( Wa mimmann hawlakum minal A'raabi munaafiqoona wa min ahlil Madeenati maradoo 'alan nifaaq, laa ta'lamuhum nahnu na'lamuhum; sanu'azzibuhum marrataini summa yuraddoona ilaa 'azaabin 'azeem )
101. And among those around you, some of the villagers [280] are hypocrites, and some of the people of Madinah [281] have become accustomed to hypocrisy. You do not know them; We know them [282]. We will punish them twice [283], and then they will be returned to a great punishment.

Transliteration:( Wa aakharoo na'tarafoo bizunoobihim khalatoo 'amalan saalihanw wa aakhara saiyi'an 'asal laahu 'any yatooba 'alaihim; innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem )
102. And there are others who have confessed their sins, mixing a good deed with another [284] evil one. It is likely that Allah may accept their repentance [285]. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and merciful.

Transliteration:( Khuz min amwaalihim sadaqatan tutahhiruhum wa tuzakkeehim bihaa wa salli 'alaihim inna salaataka sakanul lahum; wallaahu Samee'un 'Aleem )
103. Take from their wealth a charity [286] that purifies [287] and elevates them, and pray for them. Indeed, your prayers [288] are a source of tranquility for them[289]. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

104. Do they not know that Allah alone accepts the repentance of His servants and takes the charities [290]? And that Allah is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful [291]?

Transliteration:( Wa qul i'maloo fasayaral laahu 'amalakum wa Rasooluhoo wal mu'minoon; wa saturaddoona ilaa 'Aalimil Ghaibi washshahaadati fa yunabbi'ukum bimaa kuntum ta'maloon )
105. And say, "Work, for Allah will see your work, and so will His Messenger and the believers [292]. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."

Transliteration:( Wa aakharoona murjawna li amril laahi immaa yu'azzibuhum wa immaa yatoobu 'alaihim; wallaahu 'Aleemun Hakeem )
106. And others are held in suspense for Allah's command, whether He will punish them [293] or whether He will accept their repentance [294]. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

107. And those who have built a mosque to cause harm and infidelity [295], and to create division [296] among the believers, and as a trap for whoever has fought against Allah and His Messenger from before. And they will certainly swear that we intended nothing but good. And Allah bears witness that they are indeed liars [298].

Transliteration:( Laa taqum feehi abadaa; lamasjidun ussisa 'alat taqwaa min awwali yawmin ahaqqu 'an taqooma feeh; feehi rijaaluny yuhibbona 'any yata tah haroo; wallaahu yuhibbul muttah hireen )
108. Do not stand therein [299]. No doubt, the mosque whose foundation has been laid on righteousness [300] from the very first day is more worthy that you may stand therein. In it are men who love to be purified [301], and Allah loves those who purify themselves [302].

Transliteration:( Afaman assasa bunyaanahoo 'alaa taqwaa minal laahi wa ridwaanin khairun am man assasa bunyaanahoo 'alaa shafaa jurufin haarin fanhaara bihee fee Naari Jahannam; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen )
109. Is he who has laid his foundation on the fear of Allah and His pleasure [303] better, or he who has laid his foundation on the brink of a crumbling pit [304], which then tumbles down with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people [306].

Transliteration:( Laa yazaalu bunyaanu humul lazee banaw reebatan fee quloobihim illaaa an taqatta'a quloobuhum; wal laahu 'Aleemun Hakeem )
110. The building, which they have built, will continue to waver [307] in their hearts until their hearts may be cut [308] into pieces. And Allah is All-Knowing, Wise.

Known as "The Immunity," Surah At-Tawbah is the 9th chapter of the Glorious Quran. It contains 129 ayat (verses) and was revealed in Medina after the Prophet (ﷺ) migrated there. This surah consists of two juz (parts). Verses 1 through 92 are in the 10th juz, and verses 93 to 129 are in the 11th juz.

This surah continues from the previous one, as it begins by calling an end to the numerous peace treaties broken by the pagans. The believers are encouraged to join the Prophet (ﷺ) in marching to Tabuk for battle during the summer of 9 A.H. / 631 C.E., and hypocrites—who make spurious excuses—are uncovered and refuted. Muslims are reminded of Allah's protection at the Battle of Uhud, when their defeat turned into a successful victory, as well as how He shielded His Messenger (ﷺ) during his journey to Medina. Throughout this surah, Allah's tolerance for repentance is continually emphasized, hence its title.
