Transliteration:( Innal laahash taraa minal mu'mineena anfusahum wa amwaalahum bi anna lahumul jannah; yuqaatiloona fee sabeelil laahi fa yaqtuloona wa yuqtaloona wa'dan 'alaihi haqqan fit Tawraati wal Injeeli wal Qur'aaan; wa man awfaa bi'ahdihee minal laah; fastabshiroo bi bay'ikumul lazee baaya'tum bih; wa zaalika huwal fawzul 'azeem )
111. Indeed, Allah has purchased [309] from the believers their lives and their wealth in exchange for Paradise [310]; they fight in the way of Allah, so they kill and are killed. It is a true promise upon Him in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran [311]. And who fulfills His promise better than Allah? So rejoice [312] in your transaction which you have made with Him. And that is the supreme triumph [313].

Transliteration:( At taaa'iboonal 'aabidoonal haamidoonas saaa'ihoonar raaki'oonas saajidoonal aamiroona bilma'roofi wannaahoona 'anil munkari walhaafizoona lihudoodil laah; wa bashshiril mu'mineen )
112. They are those who repent [314], who worship, who praise, who observe fasting, who bow, who prostrate, who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and who safeguard the limits [315] of Allah. And give glad tidings to the believers.

Transliteration:( Maa kaana lin nabiyyi wallazeena aamanooo 'any yastaghfiroo lil mushrikeena wa law kaanoo ulee qurbaa min ba'di maa tabiyana lahum annahum Ashaabul jaheem )
113. It is not for the Prophet and the believers to seek forgiveness [316] for the polytheists, even though they are close relatives [317], after it has been made clear to them that they are the inmates of Hell [318].

Transliteration:( Wa maa kaanas tighfaaru ibraaheema li abeehi illaa 'an maw'idatinw wa 'adahaaa iyyaahu falammaa tabaiyana lahooo annahoo 'aduwwul lillaahi tabarra a minh; inna Ibraaheema la awwaahun haleem )
114. And the seeking of forgiveness by Ibrahim for his father was only due to a promise [319] he had made to him [320]. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy [321] of Allah, he disassociated [322] himself from him. Indeed, Ibrahim was most tenderhearted and forbearing [323].

Transliteration:( Wa maa kaanal laahu liyudilla qawman ba'da iz hadaahum hatta yubaiyina lahum maa yattaqoon; innal laaha bikulli shai'in 'Aleem )
115. And it is not befitting for Allah to lead a people astray [324] after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should guard [325] against. Surely, Allah knows everything [326].

Transliteration:( Innal laaha lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ardi yuhyee wa yumeet; wa maa lakum min doonil laahi minw waliyyinw wa laa naseer )
116. Indeed, it is Allah for Whom is the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He gives life and causes death. And you have no protector nor helper besides Allah [327].

Transliteration:( Laqat taabal laahu 'alan nabiyyi wal Muhaajireena wal Ansaaril lazeenat taba'oohu fee saa'atil 'usrati min ba'di maa kaada yazeeghu quloobu fariqin minhum thumma taaba 'alaihim; innahoo bihim Ra'oofur Raheem )
117. No doubt, blessings of Allah are conferred on the Prophet and those emigrants and helpers who sided with him [328] in the hour of hardship, after it was that the hearts of some of them nearly swerved [329] aside. Then He turned [330] towards them with blessings. Indeed, to them He is Most Kind, Most Merciful [331].

Transliteration:( Wa 'alas salaasatil lazeena khullifoo hattaaa izaa daaqat 'alaihimul ardu bimaa rahubat wa daaqat 'alaihim anfusuhum wa zannnooo al laa malja-a minal laahi illaaa ilaihi summa taaba 'alaihim liyatooboo; innal laaha Huwat Tawwaabur Raheem )
118. And to the three who were left behind [332], so much so that the earth, being so vast, became strait [333] for them, and they became weary of their own lives [334], believing that there is no refuge from Allah except in Him. Then He turned to them to forgive them, that they might continue to repent. Surely, it is Allah Who is Relenting, the Most Merciful.

Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanut taqul laaha wa koonoo ma'as saadiqeen )
119. O believers! Fear Allah and be with the truthful [335].

Transliteration:( Maa kaana li ahlil Madeenati wa man hawlahum minal A'raabi ai yatakhallafoo 'ar-Rasoolil laahi wa laa yarghaboo bi anfusihim 'an nafsih; zaalika bi annahum laa yuseebuhum zama unw wa laa nasabunw wa laa makhmasatun fee sabeelil laahi wa laa yata'oona mawti'ai yagheezul kuffaara wa laa yanaaloona min 'aduwwin nailan illaa kutiba lahum bihee 'amalun saalih; innal laaha laa yudee'u ajral muhsineen )
120.It was not proper for the inhabitants of Madina [336], and those around them [337], to remain sitting behind the Messenger of Allah, nor that they should consider their own lives more dear than his life. This is because whatever they face as thirst, distress, or hunger [340] in the way of Allah, or where they take a step in a place that enrages [341] the infidels, for all these things [342], a good deed is written [343] for them. Surely, Allah does not waste the reward of the doers of good [344].

Known as "The Immunity," Surah At-Tawbah is the 9th chapter of the Glorious Quran. It contains 129 ayat (verses) and was revealed in Medina after the Prophet (ﷺ) migrated there. This surah consists of two juz (parts). Verses 1 through 92 are in the 10th juz, and verses 93 to 129 are in the 11th juz.

This surah continues from the previous one, as it begins by calling an end to the numerous peace treaties broken by the pagans. The believers are encouraged to join the Prophet (ﷺ) in marching to Tabuk for battle during the summer of 9 A.H. / 631 C.E., and hypocrites—who make spurious excuses—are uncovered and refuted. Muslims are reminded of Allah's protection at the Battle of Uhud, when their defeat turned into a successful victory, as well as how He shielded His Messenger (ﷺ) during his journey to Medina. Throughout this surah, Allah's tolerance for repentance is continually emphasized, hence its title.
