21. Their Lord gives [46] them glad tidings of His Mercy and of His Pleasure and of such Paradise wherein there is lasting bliss for them.

22. They will abide therein forever. Indeed, there is a great reward with Allah [47].

Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizooo aabaaa 'akum wa ikhwaanakum awliyaaa'a inis tahabbul kufra 'alal eemaan; wa mai yatawal lahum minkum fa ulaaa'ika humuz zaalimoon )
23. O believers! Take not your fathers and brothers over friends [48], if they prefer infidelity to faith. And whoso of you will befriend them, then they are the unjust [49].

24. Please declare: "If your fathers and your sons and your brothers and your wives [50], and your clan [51], and the wealth of your earnings [52], and the trade of which you fear loss, and the houses of your choice, are things [53] dearer [54] to you than Allah and His Messenger, and the striving in His Path, then wait till Allah sends His Command. And Allah guides not the disobedient."

25. Certainly, Allah did help [55] you at many places and on the day of the battle of Hunain, when you had boasted of your multitude of soldiers, but it availed you nothing, and the land, being so vast, became straitened [56] to you. Then you turned your backs, retreating [57].

Transliteration:( Summa anzalal laahu sakeenatahoo 'alaa Rasoolihee wa'alal mu'mineena wa anzala junoodal lam tarawhaa wa azzabal lazeena kafaroo; wa zaalika jazaaa'ul kaafireen )
26. Then Allah sent down His Tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the Muslims [58]. And He sent down forces that you did not see [59], and He chastised the infidels. And that is the punishment for the infidels.

Transliteration:( Summa yatoobul laahu mim ba'di zaalika 'alaa mai yashaaa'; wallaahu Ghafoorur Raheem )
27. Thereafter Allah will accept the repentance of those whom He pleases [60]. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanooo innamal mushrikoona najasun falaa yaqrabul Masjidal Haraama ba'da 'aamihim haaza; wa in khiftum 'ailatan fasawfa yughnee kumul laahu min fadliheee in shaaa'; innallaaha 'Aleemun hakeem )
28. O believers! Know that the polytheists are altogether unclean [61]. Then let them not approach [62] the Sacred Mosque after this year. And if you fear poverty, then soon Allah shall enrich you with His bounty, if He pleases [63]. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, Wise [64].

Transliteration:( Qaatilul lazeena laa yu'minoona billaahi wa laa bil yawmil Aakhiri wa laa yuharrimoona maa harramal laahu wa Rasooluhoo wa laa yadeenoona deenal haqqi minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba hattaa yu'tul jizyata ai yadinw wa hum saaghiroon )
29. Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day [65], and do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger [66] have made lawful, and do not adhere to the true faith [67], among those who were given the Book [68], until they pay the required tax with their own hands, being subdued [69].

Transliteration:( Wa qaalatil yahoodu 'Uzairunib nul laahi wa qaalatin Nasaaral Maseehub nul laahi zaalika qawluhum bi afwaahihim yudaahi'oona qawlal lazeena kafaroo min qabl; qatalahumul laah; annaa yu'fakoon )
30. And the Jews said, "Uzair [71] is the son of Allah," and the Christians said, "Messiah [Isa] is the son of Allah." These are their claims with their mouths [72]. They imitate the statements of those who disbelieved before them [73]. May Allah curse them [74]. How are they deluded?

Known as "The Immunity," Surah At-Tawbah is the 9th chapter of the Glorious Quran. It contains 129 ayat (verses) and was revealed in Medina after the Prophet (ﷺ) migrated there. This surah consists of two juz (parts). Verses 1 through 92 are in the 10th juz, and verses 93 to 129 are in the 11th juz.

This surah continues from the previous one, as it begins by calling an end to the numerous peace treaties broken by the pagans. The believers are encouraged to join the Prophet (ﷺ) in marching to Tabuk for battle during the summer of 9 A.H. / 631 C.E., and hypocrites—who make spurious excuses—are uncovered and refuted. Muslims are reminded of Allah's protection at the Battle of Uhud, when their defeat turned into a successful victory, as well as how He shielded His Messenger (ﷺ) during his journey to Medina. Throughout this surah, Allah's tolerance for repentance is continually emphasized, hence its title.
