The summary/theme of the Surah Sad :

As the Surah begins, the aforementioned meeting is reviewed. Allah says that the actual reason behind the denial by those people is not their own arrogance, jealousy, and insistence on following the blind, but their own arrogance, jealousy, and insistence on following the blind based on the dialogue between the Holy Prophet and the disbelievers.

Lesson learned from Surah Sad :

  1. Many partners in business do injustice to each other; except those who truly believe and do good.
  2. Allah's tested His Prophets عليهم السلام, tests that they passed. We should also be ever ready to be tested by Allah's.
  3. The sustenance of Jannah will never become exhausted.
  4. The people of Jahannam will turn on one another, blaming each other for their doom.
  5. They will also look around to see where the people they assumed to be ‘evil’ were in Jahannam, whereas those were the very people who were on the truth, and they would have been given entry into Jannah.
  6. Never think you’re superior to anyone else.
  7. Allah's is never overcome with emotions such as anger etc. Therefore, never think Allah's is angry with you so He will not accept your du‘'.
  8. Shayá¹'n promised that he shall try to lead each and every human astray.

Transliteration:( Wa hal ataaka naba'ul khasm; iz tasawwarul mihraab )
21. And had the news of the disputants reached [37] you when they came into his Mosque, climbing over the walls [38].

Transliteration:( Iz dakhaloo 'alaa Daawooda fafazi'a minhum qaaloo laa takhaf khasmaani baghaa ba'dunaa 'alaa ba'din fahkum bainanaaa bilhaqqi wa laa tushtit wahdinaaa ilaa Sawaaa'is Siraat )
22. When they entered upon Dawood, he became confused [39]of them. They said: "Fear [40] not, we are two disputants, one of us has aggressed against the other (41). Therefore, judge between us with justice and be not unjust( 42) and guide us to the right path".

23."Surely, this is my brother [43], who has ninety-nine ewes and I have one ewe. Yet, he says: "Give this one also to me [44]" and wants to dominate me with arguments".

Transliteration:( Qaala laqad zalamaka bisu 'aali na'jatika ilaa ni'aajih; wa inna kaseeran minal khulataaa'i la-yabghee ba'duhum 'alaa ba'din illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati wa qaleelun maa hum; wa zanna Daawoodu annamaa fatannaahu fastaghfara Rabbahoo wa kharra raaki'anw wa anaab (make sajdah) )
24. He (Dawood) said: "Surely he is doing injustice in demanding your ewe to add to his own ewe". And certainly, many of the partners show high-handedness against each other (45). But, those who believe and are righteous are very few (46), And Dawood perceived that We had tested (47) him. Therefore, he begged forgiveness from his Lord and fell in prostration (48), in homage, and turned (to Him) in repentance.

Transliteration:( Faghafarnaa lahoo zaalik; wa inna lahoo 'indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma aab )
25. Then We forgave him [49]. And verily he had indeed nearness to Us and an excellent resort [50] (to repent).

Transliteration:( Yaa Daawoodu innaa ja'alnaaka khaleefatan fil ardi fahkum bainan naasi bilhaqqi wa laa tattabi'il hawaa fayudillaka 'an sabeelil laah; innal lazeena yadilloona 'an sabeelil laah; lahum 'azaabun shadeedum bimaa nasoo Yawmal Hisaab (section 2) )
26. O Dawood! Certainly, We made you a vicegerent [51] on earth. Therefore, decide[52] between mankind with justice, and do not follow your desire. (53) Otherwise it would cause you to go on the wrong path from (54) the path of Allah. Verily, those who go on the wrong(55) path from the path of Allah, will have a severe punishment, for they have forgotten(56) the Day of Reckoning.

Transliteration:( Wa maa khalaqnas samaaa'a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa baatilaa; zaalika zannul lazeena kafaroo; fa waylul lil lazeena kafaroo minan Naar )
27. And We have not made the heavens and the earth, and what is in between them in vain [57]. This is the view [58] of the infidels. Therefore, woe be to the infidels, because of the Fire.

Transliteration:( Am naj'alul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati kalmufisdeena fil ardi am naj'alul muttaqeena kalfujjaar )
28. Shall We make those who believe [59] and do righteous deeds similar to those who spread disorder [60] in the earth, or shall We treat (61) the pious ones like the wicked?

Transliteration:( Kitaabun anzalnaahu ilaika mubaarakul liyaddabbarooo Aayaatihee wa liyatazakkara ulul albaab )
29. (This is) a Book that We have revealed to you, full of blessings (62), so that they may ponder on the verses, and that those gifted with wisdom (63) may be warned.

Transliteration:( Wa wahabnaa li Daawooda Sulaimaan; ni'mal 'abd; innahoo awwaab )
30.And We bestowed to Dawood, Sulaiman( 64) who was an excellent devotee. Surely, he always turned (65) (to Allah).
