Quran Ayat (Verses) regarding Sex with wife During the Night of Ramadan

Can a Muslim man have sex with his wife during Ramadan?

In the divine revelations of the Quran, a beautiful and compassionate Ayat regarding sex during the night of Ramadan is illuminated. Allah, in His infinite wisdom, declares that it is permissible for believers to engage with their spouses on the night preceding fasting. This sacred union between husband and wife has been blessed by Allah Himself. They are described as garments for each other; providing comfort, protection, and intimacy in times of both joy and hardship. The Almighty knows that at times human nature may lead one astray from the righteous path, but He assures us that repentance will be accepted and forgiveness granted. Thus, believers are encouraged to embrace this gift of love within marriage and seek what Allah has destined for them through this intimate bond.

During Ramadan's holy month when fasting is observed from dawn till dusk, there are specific guidelines to follow. One must eat suhoor (pre-dawn meal) before commencing their fast until they can distinguish between two distinct threads: one white representing daylight breaking forth from darkness emblemized by a black thread. Once this distinction becomes apparent, believers should abstain from all food or drink until sunset when they complete their fasts.

However, it is essential to note that while engaging in secluded devotion within mosques known as I'tikaaf - where individuals dedicate themselves solely to worship - sexual relations with one's spouse should be avoided entirely during this time of spiritual seclusion. These boundaries set by Allah serve as reminders for people not to transgress beyond what He has permitted.

187. It has been made lawful [419] for you during the night preceding fasting to be intimate with your wives. They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them. Allah knows that you used to deceive [420] yourselves. He has accepted your repentance and pardoned you [421]. So now, be intimate with them and seek what Allah has decreed [422] for you. And eat and drink [423] until the white thread becomes distinct to you from the black thread of dawn. Then complete [424] the fast until nightfall. But do not be intimate with your wives [425] while you are in secluded devotion (I'tikaaf) in the mosques. These are the limits of Allah, so do not approach them. Thus does Allah clarify His verses for the people so that they may become pious.
