    إِذۡ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ

    140.When he ran away towards the laden [141] ship.

    فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُدۡحَضِينَ

    141.And when he drew lots (as to who should be thrown into the sea), he was among the rejected (to be thrown into the sea).

    فَٱلۡتَقَمَهُ ٱلۡحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٞ

    142.Then [142] the fish swallowed [143] him, while he was blaming (144) himself.

    فَلَوۡلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحِينَ

    143.And had he not been among those who glorify [145] Allah.

    لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطۡنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ

    144. He would have surely remained in its belly until the day when the people shall be resurrected [146]

    ۞فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُ بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٞ

    145. Then We cast [147] him on a barren shore, as he was sick [148] (having remained in the belly of the fish).

    وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ شَجَرَةٗ مِّن يَقۡطِينٖ

    146. And We caused to grow over him a plant of gourd [149].

    وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِاْئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ يَزِيدُونَ

    فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ

    149. Now ask them to pronounce, has your Lord daughters, while they have sons [153]?
