    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

    77.Truly, in that are signs for the believers [87].

    وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٖ مُّقِيمٍ

    76. And surely that town is on the road still traveled [88] (i.e., it is situated on a well-traveled path that still exists today).

    إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِينَ

    75.No doubt, in that, are signs for those who have an understanding [87]

    فَجَعَلۡنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

    74.Then We made the upper side of that town lower [85] and rained upon them stones of baked clay [86] (i.e., We turned the town upside down and pelted them with stones made of baked clay).

    فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِينَ

    73.Then a roaring cry overtook them at sunrise [84].

    لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِي سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ

    72. By your life [Prophet Muhammad], they were wandering blindly in their intoxication [83].

    قَالَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِيٓ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَٰعِلِينَ

    71. He said, "These are my daughters [82] (i.e., the women of my people; they are like daughters to me in terms of protection and honor); if you wish to act."

    قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

    70.They said, 'Did we not forbid you from interfering with the people [81]?'

    وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ

    69. And fear Allah and do not disgrace me [80].

    قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيۡفِي فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ

    68. Lut said, 'These are my guests, so do not disgrace me [79].'

    وَجَآءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ

    67.And the people of the city came rejoicing [78].

    وَقَضَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقۡطُوعٞ مُّصۡبِحِينَ

    66. And We had decreed to him that the end of these people would be cut off by morning [77].

    فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا يَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدٞ وَٱمۡضُواْ حَيۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ

    65. So travel with your family in a part of the night [74] and follow their rear [75], and let not one of you look back, but go wherever you are commanded [76].

    وَأَتَيۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ

    64.And We have brought to you the truth, and indeed, We are truthful.

    قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَ

    62.He said, 'Indeed, you are a people unknown.' [72]
