23. And when he came to the water of Midian, [57] he found there a crowd of people watering their animals, and he found, apart from them, two women [58] keeping back their flocks. He said, "What is the matter with you two?" They said, "We do not water until the shepherds take their flocks away. Our father is an old man." [59]

24. Then Musa watered their animals for them both, [62] then turned to the shade and said, "My Lord, I am in need of whatever good You may send down to me." [63]

25. Then one of the two women came to him walking bashfully and said, "My father invites you to reward you for watering our animals." When Musa came to him and related the story, [66] he said, "Do not fear; you have escaped from the wrongdoers." [67]

26. One of the two women said, [68] "O my father, employ him. [69] Indeed, the best employee is the one who is strong and trustworthy." [70]

27. He said, "I intend to marry you to one of these two daughters on the condition that you serve me for eight years. [71] But if you complete ten years, [72] it will be from you. I do not wish to put you in difficulty. [73] You will, if Allah wills, find me among the righteous." [74]

28. Musa said, "This is an agreement between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I fulfill, there will be no further demand against me. [75] And Allah is the Witness over what we say." [76]

29. When Musa had fulfilled the term and departed with his family, [77] he perceived a fire from the side of the mountain of Tur. [78] He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I may bring you news from it [79] or a burning brand from the fire so that you may warm yourselves." [80]

30. When he came to it, [82] a call was made from the right side of the valley in the blessed spot from the tree [83], "O Musa, I am Allah, the Lord of the worlds." [84]

31. And throw down your staff." But when Musa saw it wriggling as if it were a snake, [86] he turned in flight and did not look back. [87] "O Musa, come forward and do not fear. Indeed, you are of those who are secure." [88]

32. Put your hand into your bosom, it will come out white without disease, [89] and draw your hand close to your side to calm your fear. [90] These are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs. Indeed, they have been a rebellious people." [91]

33.He said, I have killed a person from among them, I therefore, fear that they may kill me. [93]

34. And my brother Haroon is more eloquent in speech [94] than I, so send him with me as a helper [95] to confirm my words. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me." [96]

35. He said, "We will strengthen your arm through your brother [97] and grant you both authority, [98] so they will not be able to harm you due to Our signs. [99] You two, and those who follow you, will be the victors." [100]

36. Then when Musa brought them Our clear signs, they said, "This is nothing but fabricated magic, [101] and we have never heard of this among our forefathers." [102]

37. And Musa said, "My Lord knows well who has brought guidance from Him and for whom will be the home of the Hereafter. [103] Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed." [104]

38. And Pharaoh said, "O Haman, kindle for me a fire upon the clay and build me a tower [105] that I may look at the God of Musa. [106] Indeed, I think he is among the liars." [107]

39. And he and his soldiers were arrogant in the land without right, [108] and they thought that they would not be returned to Us. [109]

40. So We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. [110] See then how was the end of the wrongdoers. [111]

41. And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire, [112] and on the Day of Resurrection, they will not be helped.

42. And We placed a curse upon them in this world, [113] and on the Day of Resurrection, they will be among those rejected. [114]
