    ۞وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَجَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ كَرِيمٌ

    17. And indeed. We tried the people of Pharaoh [16] before them, and a Noble Messenger came to them[17].

    أَنۡ أَدُّوٓاْ إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ

    18.Saying: "Hand [18] over to me the devotees of Allah. Indeed, I am a Messenger, faithful to my trust".

    وَأَن لَّا تَعۡلُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّيٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ

    19."And do not rise against[19] Allah. Surely, I bring to you a clear authority [20]

    وَإِنِّي عُذۡتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمۡ أَن تَرۡجُمُونِ

    20."I take refuge with my Lord and our Lord, lest you stone [21] me".

    وَإِن لَّمۡ تُؤۡمِنُواْ لِي فَٱعۡتَزِلُونِ

    21."And if you do not believe in me, then keep apart [22] from me".

    فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوۡمٞ مُّجۡرِمُونَ

    22.Then he called to his Lord: These are guilty people".

    فَأَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيۡلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ

    23.Take My devotees away by the night, for surely, you shall be followed [23]"

    وَٱتۡرُكِ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ رَهۡوًاۖ إِنَّهُمۡ جُندٞ مُّغۡرَقُونَ

    24. And leave [24] the river when it is motionless. Surely, they are the group who shall be drowned [25].

    كَمۡ تَرَكُواْ مِن جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ

    25. How many gardens and fountains they had left behind.

    وَزُرُوعٖ وَمَقَامٖ كَرِيمٖ

    26. And sown fields and nice houses [26].

    وَنَعۡمَةٖ كَانُواْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ

    27.And comforts wherein they were free from care.

    كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَٰهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِينَ

    28. So was it, and We made another people to inherit[27] them (their things).

    فَمَا بَكَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنظَرِينَ

    29. And the heavens and the earth did not shed [28] tears for them, nor were they (Pharaoh and his people) given respite(29).

    وَلَقَدۡ نَجَّيۡنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡمُهِينِ

    30. And indeed. We freed the Children of Israeel from disgraceful[30] punishment.

    مِن فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ

    31.From Pharaoh who is indeed a tyrant, haughty and guilty of excesses.

    وَلَقَدِ ٱخۡتَرۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٍ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

    32. And surely We [31] exalted them knowingly [32] above the people of that time".
