16. And if the two (male and female) from among you commit such an act, punish both of them [64]. If they repent [65] and reform, then leave them alone. Surely, Allah is Relenting, Most Merciful [66].

If anyone kills a believer unintentionally, then he must free a Muslim slave and pay blood money (restitution) to the family of the deceased, unless they forgo [293] their right. But if the deceased was from a people who are hostile to you, and he himself [294] was a believer, then the obligation is only to free a Muslim slave. And if he was from a people with whom you have a pact [295], then blood compensation should be paid to his family along with freeing a believing slave [296]. However, if someone cannot find the means to do this, they should fast for two consecutive months. This is repentance accepted by Allah [297]. And Allah is Ever-Knowing, All-Wise.

And eat and drink [423] until the white thread becomes distinct to you from the black thread of dawn. Then complete [424] the fast until nightfall. But do not be intimate with your wives [425] while you are in secluded devotion (I'tikaaf) in the mosques. These are the limits of Allah, so do not approach them. Thus does Allah clarify His verses for the people so that they may become pious.

222. And they ask you about menstruation. Say: "It is a pollution, so keep away [528] from women during menstruation and do not approach them until they are pure [529]. And do not strike your feet forcibly on the ground so that hidden adornment [73] may be known. And repent to Allah, O you who believe [75], altogether, so that you may achieve prosperity.

Therefore, he begged forgiveness from his Lord and fell in prostration (48), in homage, and turned (to Him) in repentance.
