    وَتَرَكۡنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ

    37. And We have left a sign there [39] as a lesson for those who fear the painful [40]punishment

    فَمَا وَجَدۡنَا فِيهَا غَيۡرَ بَيۡتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ

    36. But We found there nothing,except one [38] house (of Muslims).

    فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

    35. Then We brought [36] forth there from those who were faithful [37].

    مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ

    34. Sent forth from your Lord marked [35] excesses."for those guilty of excesses".

    لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن طِينٖ

    33.That We may let loose upon them stones [34] of baked clay.

    قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَ

    32.They said: "We have certainly been sent to a sinful [33] people."

    ۞قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ

    31. He (Ebrahim) said: "What is your affair (32), O messengers?"(Angels)

    قَالُواْ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

    30. But they said: "Thus has said [31] your Lord. And surely, He is the All- Wise, the All-Knowing."

    فَأَقۡبَلَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ فِي صَرَّةٖ فَصَكَّتۡ وَجۡهَهَا وَقَالَتۡ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٞ

    29.Then his wife came forward lamenting and struck her forehead and said: "What? I am just a barren old woman."

    فَأَوۡجَسَ مِنۡهُمۡ خِيفَةٗۖ قَالُواْ لَا تَخَفۡۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖ

    28. He conceived a fear [29] on his mind on account of them. They said: Do not be afraid [30]," and gave him good news of the birth of a knowledgable son.

    فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡ قَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ

    27.And laid it before them. He said:"Will you not eat?"

    فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجۡلٖ سَمِينٖ

    26.Then he went to his family and brought a fat [28] calf (roasted).

    إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗاۖ قَالَ سَلَٰمٞ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَ

    25.When they came to him they said: Salutations" [26]. He replied: "Salutaions". They were the unknown [27] people.
