60 And recall when Musa [Moses] [142] said to his servant [143], "I shall not desist until I reach the meeting point of the two seas [144], or I will continue for ages [145]."

61. Then when they both reached the meeting place of the two seas, they forgot their fish [146], and it made its way into the sea, creating an underground passage [147].

62. Then when they had passed beyond that place, Musa said to his servant, "Bring us our meal; we have certainly met with fatigue from this journey." [148]

63. He said, “Do you remember when we took refuge at the rock? Indeed, I forgot the fish, and Satan made me forget [149] to mention it. It took its path in the sea in a remarkable manner.”

64. Musa said, “That is what we were seeking [150].” So they retraced their steps, following their tracks.

65. Then they found a servant [151] from Our servants, to whom We had given mercy from Us and taught him knowledge from Us [152].

66. Musa said to him, "Should I follow you on the condition that you teach me from the knowledge you have been given [153]?

67. He said, "You will not be able to have patience with me [154]."

68. And how can you be patient about something you have no knowledge of [155]?

69. Musa said, “Soon if Allah wills, you will find me patient [156], and I shall not disobey you in any affair [157].”

70. He said, “If you remain with me, then ask [158] nothing unless I mention it [159].”

71. Now both of them set out, until when they embarked in a boat [160], he cleaved it. Musa said, "Have you cleaved it in order to drown [161] its passengers? Indeed, you have done a wrong thing [162]."

72. He said, "Did I not tell you that you would not be able to stay with me?"

73. Musa said, "Do not blame me for what I forgot [163], and do not make my affair difficult for me."

74. Again both of them set out until they met a boy [164], whom he killed. Musa said, "Have you killed an innocent person [165] who hasn’t killed anyone else? Indeed, you have committed a grave wrong [166]."

75. He said, "Did I not tell you [167] that you would not be able to stay with me?" [168]

76. Musa said, "If I ask you about anything after this, then do not keep my company [169]; indeed, you have already fulfilled your excuse from my side [170]."

77. Again both went on until they came to the people of a village [171]. They asked the villagers for food [172], but they refused [173] to entertain them. Then they found a wall about to collapse [174], and he set it right. Musa said, "If you had wished, you could have taken a wage for it [175]."

78. He said, "This is the separation [176] between me and you. Now I shall tell you the explanation [177] of those things over which you could not have patience [178]."

79. As for the boat, it belonged to poor people [179] who worked at sea. I intended to make it faulty [180] because there was a king behind them who seized every intact boat by force [181].
